A lovely Egyptian banded vessel with ancient alabaster lid dating from Egypt’s Middle Kingdom, c. 2061 - 1690 BC. The piece is carved from a lovely banded alabaster material with narrowed neck and wide flat rim. H: 2 1/2 in (6.3 cm); Dia: 2 in (5 cm). Lid from a different vessel originally, but still ancient. Ex Devon, UK private collection acquired in the 1950's - 60's, thence by descent.
Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity which includes all the details, culture, dating, motifs/inscriptions when applicable, historical relevance, and provenance.
