Product Description

Being offered today is an ERROR STRIKE and EXTREMELY RARE example of a 1938 D Buffalo Nickel. If you look on the reverse of the coin the strike is off center, making this an error coin. Error coins are much harder to find because the mint highly scrutinizes all coins for a perfect strike. It is very rare that these coins are released from the mint into the public.

This Buffalo Nickel is graded by NGC in Mint State 66. The NGC encapsulation guarantees the coin’s MS-66 condition. The coin already has some beautiful gold toning on the front and back of the coin. All of this adds up to a great opportunity for the collector or investor!

This coin is an unusually nice high-end survivor with a sharp strike. The coin shows a nice reflective semi proof like (PL) obverse and reverse. Not quite worthy of the PL designation but the appearance adds significantly to the eye appeal. Please see the pictures for details.

The buffalo nickel is technically known as the “Five-Cent Indian Head” coin. It's also commonly referred to as the “Buffalo Nickel” or “Bison Nickel” due to the bison on the back and often the “Indian Nickel” based on the portrait of a classic American native on the front.

This rare 1938 D Buffalo Nickel is a true gem for anyone looking for something out of the ordinary. With its impeccable MS 66 grade, certified by NGC, it is a must-have for those who appreciate the value of rare coins. The strike on this coin showcases the intricate details of the design, making it a beautiful addition to any collection.
